About the Job

The Second-Generation Church and Ministries (SGCM) Pastor helps Christian Arabic Church (CAC) carry out its mission primarily by providing spiritual, pastoral, and administrative leadership to all aspects of the Second Generation Church and Ministries. He serves as pastor, biblical teacher, and
leader of the Second-Generation Church and Ministries, as well as shepherding carefully and prayerfully everyone involved in all Second Generation Church and Ministries.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • A disciple of Jesus Christ who exhibits a growing relationship with the Lord and demonstrates a love and passion for serving Him. A member in good standing of the church and willing to become one of the Christian Arabic Church servants (CAC).

  • A clear calling to Second Generation Church and Ministries (SGCM).

  • Have spiritual gifts appropriate for this position, such as pastorship, leadership, and teaching.

  • A lifestyle congruent with the biblical qualifications for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-132 Tim. 2; Titus1:5-9) and abide by the constitution & the Bylaws of the Christian Arabic Church (www.cacanheim.org)

  • A heart to honor God above all and to lead people, especially young adults, into deeper worship and knowledge of Him.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Christian ministry, biblical studies, or a related field from an accredited institution (Master’s degree preferred.) 


Competencies:

  • Able to deal with different cultures, preferably Arabic speaking communities. 

  • Engaging personality with strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A high commitment to team ministry, relationships, and having fun along the way.

  • Experience in training others, team building, and disciplining team leaders.

  • Ability to maintain appropriate discretion and confidentiality.

  • A sound knowledge of the Scripture and an ability to effectively apply Scriptural principles in ministry that leads to life transformation.


Responsibilities/Essential Job Duties:

  • General Ministry Leadership

    • Provide pastoral leadership for all SGCM which includes overseeing biblical teaching, worship, shepherding care, discipleship, evangelism, and missions.

    • Work with Lead Pastors to set vision, direction, and goals for SGCM that are aligned with the overall vision of the CAC.

    • Participate in all scheduled staff meetings and staff development activities.

    • Assist with church-wide pastoral care and preaching.

  • Teach the Bible with excellence, clarity, and authenticity, delivering scriptural-grounded messages that are applicable to the everyday lives of audiences.

  • Second-Generation Church Ministry (SGCM) Leadership

    • Implement a strategy for partnering with parents to reach the second generation with the gospel, disciple them in their faith, and equip them to live as fully devoted and growing disciples of Jesus.

    • Plan and direct intentional opportunities for family-integrated worship and service.

    • Provide a warm, safe, and friendly environment for children, students, and families. Engage all SGCM members with opportunities to develop a strong spiritual foundation and a growing faith in Christ, and to experience being an active part of the body of Christ.

    • Develop, lead, and disciple all second-generation ministry teams (e.g., a Nursery, Pre-school, Elementary, Youth, and Student Ministries Teams). This includes recruiting, training, evaluating, and encouraging ministry leaders.

    • Manage the SGCM database and oversee the scheduling of all SGCM volunteers in the church management system.

    • Create and manage SGCM budget.

    • Willing to learn about child and adolescent faith development and ministry through independent study and occasional continuing education opportunities (seminars, conferences, etc.).

    • Use appropriate child development knowledge to best meet the needs of the next generation in curriculum selection, discipline, groupings, etc.

    • Work with other church leaders and staff to coordinate family-oriented events and outreach.

    • Encourage and facilitate SGCM members' engagement in the larger church body.

    • Build relationships with and provide pastoral care for SGCM members and their families.

    • Find creative ways to impact the community by developing relationships with schools, colleges, and universities in our community and creating potential outreach opportunities.

  • Parent and Family Leadership

    • Encourage families through regular and consistent communication.

    • Provide opportunities for parents to grow in their ability to shepherd their own children.

    • Be a resource to help parents engage spiritually with their children.

    • Organize and participate in child dedications and baptisms.


Compensation

  • Salary range: $48,000-52,000 per year
